Allard Reining Clinic being held at 2009 Illinois Horse Fair
Alain Allard of Quebec, Canada, will host a two-day reining clinic at the Illinois Horse Fair March 7-8 at the State Fairgrounds in Springfield, IL. Allard not only is an excellent trainer and successful competitor, he’s an outstanding teacher who can articulate riding and training concepts so they are easily understood. An NRHA Futurity winner with Brennas Kid, Allard also is a many times NRHA futurity finalist, winner of the NRHA Open at Congress and reserve in the Superstakes. North Central US Affiliate Finals
Members of the Illinois Reining Horse Association went to the NRHA North Central US Affiliate Finals this past weekend representing our association in 6 divisions and walking away with finalists qualifying for competition in the 2007 NRHA Futurity and Adequan® North American Affiliate Championship Show in 3 of them.
Doug Bogart rode in the Limited Open tieing for 4th on his gelding Forest on Fire. Lori Nelson and Chancy Whiz Lena placed 2nd in the newly formed Rookie Professional division. Andrea Martin, Michelle Ochs and Paige Schmidt all competed in the Rookie division walking away with 3 of the top 4 spots. Paige Schmidt placed 1st on Dun It In Silver, Michelle
Ochs came in 2nd on Smokin Whizard, and Andrea Martin finished placing 4th on Do To Ride The River. All the above qualifed for the Champion Show being held Nov. 22 - Dec. 1.
Also competing over the weekend were Bud Sprouce in the Non Pro Division and Hannah Bengtson on Mega Rio inYouth 14-18. Hannah received 3rd in the Youth Team Competition.

ILRHA Year End Awards Banquet
The Illinois Reining Horse Association will be holding their 2007 Year End Awards Banquet on Saturday, November 10th at Wildlife Prairie State Park in Hanna City, Illinois. There will be a social hour with a cash bar beginning at 5:30 with dinner being served at 6:30 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by Bob Krouse, western singer, songwriter and storyteller. Dinner will include your choice of tossed salad with assorted dressings, fresh fruit, potatoe salad, cole slaw, BBQ pork ribs, fried chicken, fried whole catfish, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, corn bread with honey butter & fresh baked rolls. There will aslo be a choice of dessert included with your meal. All dinners include coffee, iced tea and water.
